You are on your first date with someone who you really, really like, but you have no clue if he feels the same towards you. During this time, you want to have the ability to read minds so that you would be able to find out if he is into you just as you are into him. Always remember that the first date is like a make-or-break deal – either you will both discover enough common interests that could lead into the second date, or you will both realize that you are not compatible and bid your chances of a happy ever after (with him) goodbye.
How do you really know if your date is really into you without the need for blatant questions and more awkward answers? Here are five of some sure-fire ways that might help you:
Master the art of body language
I am sure that all of us are familiar with the adage “actions speak louder than words.” The way his body gears towards (or repels away from) you is the easiest method to find out if your date is into you. If you find your date always leaning towards you, or if he does not move his knees away when yours accidentally touch his, then you know for sure that he likes you. Constantly looking at everything but you or moving his seat a few feet away from yours should always be taken as not-so good signs. Be observant.
He easily opens up to you
A guy who does not find it difficult to open up to you is a sign that he is comfortable with you and that he can be himself in your company. Needless to say, this means that he really likes you and that he trusts you. If he really enjoys your company, he would not have a hard time talking to you about anything you could possibly talk about.
He mirrors your movements
If your date likes you back, then he will subconsciously copy your movements. This just means that your guy is mindful of your every move and that he is curious to know how it feels to have his hands (and lips) around you every time you touch a part of your body, or lick your lips after a wonderful meal. Copying your movements also means that he wants his body to be attuned to yours and feel the connection between the two of you.
He is oblivious to his surroundings
Here is where he is only aware of one thing: you. Everything else around him just comes in a blur. It is like you are the only person in existence, and you his world. The way he looks at you is also a giveaway to see if he likes you – his eyes are fixed intently on you, as if he is memorizing every pore, every inch of your face. He hardly pays attention to anyone else, be it that statuesque model-lookalike on the other table or if he spills a little water on his shirt just because his eyes are busy ogling at you.
Observe how he bids his goodbye
As your first date comes to a close, see if he is in any hurry to say goodbye. Check during the ride home if he is constantly sending text messages, as if he is making other plans after dropping you off. Notice if the ride home is taking longer than usual (if it is, then it means that he is taking his time and just wants to spend more time with you). It is also a good sign if he keeps on putting off any plans to go home and frequently asking if you want to do anything else after your date, like to eat some dessert or grab a cup of coffee, or if he wants to stroll down the park and enjoy the “weather”. If you catch him lingering even as you walk away, and makes sure that you are safely inside your home (or sometimes in your room), then you know for sure that he is into you.
More than anything, it is during the first date that you should pay much attention to. It is when you find out if you are compatible with each other that there is a bigger chance of having another date, or if you have absolutely nothing in common that spend one minute more with her is just a waste of both your time. More than a hard subject in school, chemistry is a very important component that should be present between two people on their first date, as it determines the likelihood of a lasting relationship.
